Follow @Sharondog Pine Crest girls cross country team won its biggest meet in school history Saturday at the FSU Pre-State Invitational at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee. Running without its No. 4 runner Mahdere Yared, who was nursing a leg injury, Pine Crest relied on its depth, talent and inspired No. 4 and 5 runners to capture the girls’ team title against some of the top teams in Florida and Georgia. The meet was a dress rehearsal for the Nov. 7 state meet on the same course for the three-time state runner-up five weeks out from the state meet.
